Version 1.1.0 - Post Compo Update #1

Added some updates based on user feedback received during the Ludum Dare.

First up, the balance changes:

  1. Enemies now drop small amounts of minerals when they die
  2. Enemies no longer only patrol near the player when they don't have a target
    1. Previously, an enemy without a target would pick points near the player to wander toward. Now they will pick a point either near the player, or near the escape pod to wander near
  3. Enemies no longer only spawn near the player


    1. Previously enemies would only spawn just off-screen around the player, now they may spawn near the escape pod as well

Two new features have been added to the game:

  1. Escape pod indicator
    1. There's now an indicator pointing in the direction of the escape pod at all times
  2. Longer-range resource scanner


    1. Holding the TAB key will now bring up an overlay showing nearby resources that have not been mined out yet.


What's Next?

There's still plenty of content from the original design document left to implement. More things are coming for this little experiment; new enemy types, a boss fight, and new upgrades for the player are all planned. See you soon!
